Developed in close consultation with the community through the Think2030 community visioning process, the City’s Strategic Community Plan and Corporate Business Plan guide the City’s vision and future direction for the City. 

Community vision – Subiaco in 2030 

In 2030 the City of Subiaco is a unique, popular and welcoming place. The City celebrates its rich history, while embracing the diversity and vitality of the present. The parks, public spaces, events and recreational opportunities are easily accessible and promote a healthy and happy lifestyle for all. There is a diverse range of local businesses and entertainment contributing to a lively atmosphere. 

The City faces the challenges of the future with strong leadership, an innovative approach and an emphasis on community values and voices. Sustainability, in all its forms, is at the core of the community and underpins the City’s operations.

Strategic Community Plan

The City’s Strategic Community Plan is the long-term strategic planning document outlining the City’s actions and commitment toward achieving the vision and aspirations of and for the community. 

Developed in 2011 through close consultation with the community through the Think2030 community visioning project, conducted over 18 months, the community engagement process collected more than 30,000 pieces of information. 

From this comprehensive process, the City identified six key focus areas of the Strategic Community Plan: 

1. Our sense of community
2. Parks, open spaces and places
3. A unique destination
4. The built environment
5. An effective and integrated transport system
6. Council leadership. 

The plan was reviewed in 2016 to ensure it continues to reflect the community’s priorities. More than 1600 comments were received from the City’s call for community feedback, and the City reports on the progress of the plan. 

The Plan is reviewed regularly and progress reported in the Annual Report each year.

Corporate Business Plan

The City of Subiaco’s Corporate Business Plan 2021–2025 outlines the City's key priorities and actions for the next four years. This plan is informed by the Strategic Community Plan, integrating the community's aspirations into the City's operations.
