Owners of properties listed on the City of Subiaco heritage list, or located within a heritage area (i.e. heritage-protected places), can obtain complimentary professional architectural advice from a local heritage architect engaged by the City. To access this service, contact the City's Heritage Officer on 9237 9222 or at heritage@subiaco.wa.gov.au.
The heritage grants provide funding for conservation works which are in the public view and enhance and reveal the heritage significance of the property, and/or urgent conservation works required in order to stabilise a building. Generally eligible projects are entitled to 50 per cent of the total cost of the works, up to a maximum of $5000

Schedule 2, Part 3 Clause 12 of the Planning and Development (Local Planning Scheme) Regulations 2015 allows Council to grant variations to any site or development requirement of the local planning framework where the proposed development either:
- facilitates the built heritage conservation of a place listed on the State or City's heritage list; or
- enhances or preserves heritage values in a heritage area.

Places of cultural heritage significance listed on the heritage list or within a heritage area may be entitled to a partial waiver of planning fees under Local Planning Policy 7.2 Refunding and Waiving of Planning Fees.
