Demolitions
A demolition permit is required before a structure can be demolished or removed from your property in the City of Subiaco.
Work affecting other land
Please consider how your demolition may affect your neighbours. Dust and noise should be managed to protect this important and ongoing relationship. If the works will encroach on, adversely affect, or require access to other land, consent is required before the works can be carried out. For further information, visit the Building Commission website.
A licensed WorkSafe contractor must be used if you are demolishing a structure which has more than 10 square metres of asbestos. For further information on asbestos and its safe removal please visit the City's Asbestos and hazardous waste page.
Rat baiting
A rat-baiting program must be carried out and evidence provided to the City before a demolition permit is approved. Baits must be placed in the ceilings, sub-floor spaces and outbuildings at least seven days before demolition. For further information on rats and other pests and insects within the City, please visit the pest and insect control page.
