Citizenship ceremonies

City of Subiaco residents who choose to become Australian citizens are invited to attend the City's citizenship ceremonies. This is the final step to becoming an Australian citizen. 

The ceremonies offer new citizens an opportunity to connect their cultural past with their new community. Candidates make a pledge of commitment in groups and are presented with their citizenship certificate. At the close of formalities, the national anthem is sung together, followed by a celebratory morning or afternoon tea. 

The City hosts several ceremonies each year. Below are the dates for 2024, with two more to be scheduled in the second half of the year:

  • Thursday 26 January 
  • Monday 8 April 
  • Monday 15 July
