2024 in review

This year has given us plenty to celebrate and be proud of across the City of Subiaco.

From the buzzing energy of new businesses setting up shop to the unforgettable events that brought people from near and far to Subi, this year is one to remember.

There have been a huge number of remarkable milestones and achievements for the community including wins in the sustainability, safety, wellbeing and amenity areas.

Here's a look at just a few of the standout moments from 2024:

The City maintained its certified carbon neutral status
The tender process for new civic precinct began
Council decided to build a pocket park in the heart of Subiaco town centre
Subiaco Library’s exterior was restored to its original glory
92 citizens welcomed into the City of Subiaco
Lords launched lunchtime corporate challenges for local workers
Food organics, garden organics (FOGO) was implemented for units and apartments
The City was re-endorsed as a Gold Waterwise Council
New pathway art makes pedestrians safer
City launched first Reconciliation Action Plan
Community gave the City top marks in scorecard survey
City awarded a number of grants, including community development grants to help boost mental health
Council endorsed Subi Streets, a bold plan to transform our streets and laneways
A new mural opened at Shenton’s Park recently completed mixed-use community space
Forrest Walk upgrade completed
Subi Library achieved dementia-friendly status
A unique public artwork (Stem by Stem) made its Perth debut in the biggest Subi Blooms event yet
15 heritage grants approved by Council
Subiaco Museum finished digitising its photographic collection, making over 5000 images available online
The No More Blank Walls Subi festival attracted almost 48,000 spectators over 10 days
The City planted 511 new trees in parks, reserves and on verges, in 2024
New pump track at Rosalie Park opened
