This page contains information on current and upcoming temporary road closures by major developments in Subiaco by third parties. Please note that you may need to seek alternative routes. The City acknowledges that these disruptions may cause inconvenience to the City of Subiaco community. 

Current Works Sites

St John of God Hospital Redevelopment – High Voltage Cable Works

Project: delivery of high-voltage feeder cable works supporting the redevelopment of St John of God Hospital in Subiaco. 

Impacted roads and timeline (indicative) 
The overall construction timeline period is expected to take approximately six months. Please note that the timeline provided by Western Power below is indicative and may change. 

  • January 2026: Start at the Shenton Park substation (Lonnie Street, Daglish),  

  • January – February 2026: Stubbs Terrace (daylight hours). 

  • February – March 2026: Subiaco, between Hay Street & Cambridge Street. 

  • April – May 2026: Cambridge Street. 

  • A portion of Robinson Terrace will be closed for laydown area

5 –7 Wunderlich Road – Construction of Apartments  Contractor/Developer: Blaq Projects

Project: construction of multi-storied apartments at 5 Wunderlich Road, Subiaco. These works include an intermit road closure with a detour in place. 

Impacted roads and timeline (indicative) 
The overall construction timeline is expected to take approximately 18 months. The following roads will be impacted as part of these works. 

  • Wunderlich Road - September 2025 to end of 2026  

  • The section of Wunderlich Road between Eakins Lane and Darbon Cres will be closed as and when there is concrete pour and delivery trucks on site. The road will remain open and accessible at all other times. 

64 Price Street – Construction of Apartments

Project - construction of multi-storied residential apartments at 64 Price Street, Subiaco. These works will include a road closure and pedestrian detour.  

Project Timeline (indicative) 
The overall construction timeline is expected to take approximately 18 months. March 2025 to Mid 2026. 

  • Pedestrian footpath on the eastern side of the site will be closed while works are ongoing, with the detour provided 

  • Stop hold scenario implementation during truck egress and ingress of site 

  • Full road closure will be in place during the concrete pours and deliveries at the site. The road will remain open and accessible at all other times. 

22 Hood Street – Construction of Multi-storied Residential Apartments

Project: to deliver construction works at 22 Hood Street, Subiaco. These works include a road closure with detour, and pedestrian detour.

The overall construction timeline is expected to take approximately 18 months.  

  • February 2025 to August 2026 

Northern side footpath closure until April 2026  

Road closure during delivery of materials with access to shopping centre maintained at all times. 

46 Bishop Street – Incontro Apartment Construction

Project: Construction of the Incontro Apartments at 46 Bishop Street, Subiaco. These works include temporary stop-go operations, pedestrian management, works off road, road closures (full or half width). 

Project Timeline (indicative) 
The construction of the building will be completed over a duration of approximately 23 months.  

  • August 2025 to July 2027  

Upcoming developments

616 Hay Street – Construction of a new Bunnings Warehouse

Project: construction of a new Bunnings Warehouse at 616 Hay Street, Jolimont. These works include lane closures, pedestrian detours and a temporary relocation of the bus stop. 

Project Timeline (indicative) 
The overall construction timeline is expected to take approximately 21 months.  

  • February 2026 to November 2027 

Northern side footpath along Hay St and western footpath on Tige St will be closed for the project duration with detour provided via lane way marked in green below  

484 Hay Street – Construction of Apartment Building

Project: Apartment construction at 484 Hay St, Subiaco. These works include Avan St southbound closure as and when required, closure of parking bays on the northern side of Hay St adjacent to the site, footpath immediate to the construction site will be closed for the duration of the project with detour routes. 

Timeline (indicative) 

The overall construction timeline is expected to take approximately 18 months, project expected to commence early to mid this year.  

  • Northern footpath and parking bays marked in red below will be closed for the whole duration of the project with pedestrian detour provided.

  • Southbound of Alvan St will be closed for the delivery of materials and tower crane installation.
