A new pump track at Rosalie Park has officially opened with families and local riders already spotted enjoying the course.
Over the past few years, the City has received numerous requests for a pump track and, after an extensive two-stage community consultation process, the track was recently brought to life.
It has been built using organic materials and was designed around the existing trees to ensure they were all retained throughout the project.
Mayor David McMullen said the pump track is a great addition to Shenton Park.
"The pump track has only been open a short time but already I'm enjoying seeing kids doing laps on their BMX and mountain bikes,” he said.
"It’s fantastic to see a community idea come to life like this, winding around the existing landscape; thank you to everyone who contributed to the final design.
"The pump track really complements the improvements we've made at the opposite end of Rosalie Park in recent years too; and it's all contributing to activation and community use in this corner of Shenon Park."
The pump track can be found in the north-east corner of Rosalie Park Reserve.
