In the event that one of the vehicles you are registering for a Residential Parking Permit is not in the name of a resident, you will need to include written confirmation from the owner of the vehicle confirming that their car is kept at the property on a full-time basis. This document can be submitted during the application for permits using the ‘Additional Documents’ field.
Email the current registration papers for the new vehicle to the City’s Compliance Services branch at
complianceservices@subiaco.wa.gov.au and the City will add this vehicle to your account for you.
A second Visitor Parking Permit is still able to be purchased for $31 through the e-permit platform.
It should be noted however, that the majority of City streets and car stations are free and unrestricted after 5pm on weekdays and all day on weekends. As such, the need for Visitor Parking Permits may be reduced.
To ensure that residents continue to receive the correct type and number of permits to suit their circumstances, owner-occupiers are required to reapply for permits every 3 years.
Those residents who are on a lease arrangement or similar will be issued permits valid for 12 months or to the end of their lease, whichever is the shorter.
The City will advise all permit holders when they are required to reapply for permits via email.
The City’s Local Parking Laws limits the amount of Residential Parking Permits that a resident may have to three and the number of Visitor Parking Permits to two.
Residential Parking Permits are issued on a needs basis and are not issued to address issues of convenience. As part of the application process, City officers may inspect the premises to determine the number of parking spaces at the property, which includes the hardstand. Alternate use of off-street parking, such as garages being used for storage or as a gym, are not sufficient grounds for a Residential Parking Permit to be issued.
A request for a review of the permit allocation you have received may be made in writing and submitted to
complianceservices@subiaco.wa.gov.au. Please ensure you outline the reasons why you feel further permits should be issued.
Properties in areas of high density living or with limited on-street parking or in close proximity to public transport, may not be eligible for parking permits.
Were the City to issue parking permits in these areas to residents, the supply of available on-street parking would be quickly extinguished, with no parking options available to other motorists seeking to visit the area.
Rangers are able to instantly identify which vehicles have a valid permit through their handheld devices. Remember, it is important that you ensure the correct plate number is registered every time.
It is important to ensure that you enter the correct plate number for the vehicle that you have registered for a permit. If you do not enter the plate correctly, Rangers will be unable to see the permit session for this vehicle and an infringement may be issued.
If you receive an infringement and you believe your vehicle had an active permit at the time, please submit a request for review of this
here.
The regulation of permits is governed by the terms and conditions which relate to these. These can be viewed
here. Permit misuse may result in the revocation of all parking permits for a period of 12 months.
Contractors can purchase Commercial Parking Permits for either half a day or a full day via the following
link. These permits are valid for all parking areas within Subiaco and allow works vehicles to park in car stations without having to pay or park on streets without having to observe the time restrictions. They can also be pre-booked for future works due to occur at your property.
