The Subiaco Object Exchange 2022 – 2023, presented to the public during 24-26 March 2023
The Subiaco Object Exchange is an on-site ephemeral artwork produced by Spaced and artist, Jessee Lee Johns, founder of the ephemeral nation, The Commonwealth of New Bayswater.
The Subiaco Object Exchange was developed by the artist working with the Subiaco Voices of Youth in 2022 and 2023. The Subiaco Object Exchange functioned as a place for the residents of Subiaco to offer and replace objects of sentiment and/or utility, or to simply come and have a look at items that once belonged to their neighbours. The Subiaco Object Exchange was a part of Spaced’s Know Thy Neighbour #3, which explores how communities engage with their local cultural and urban context.
See spaced.org.au for more information about the exciting program of activities throughout Western Australia offered by Spaced as well as the artist, Jesse Lee Johns.
