A brand-new nature-based playground opened in the southern end of Lake Jualbup yesterday, just in time for the first sunset@subi concert of the 2023-24 season.
The playground includes a swing (with one infant seat and one strap seat), slide, sensory posts, balance logs, mini monkey bars, carved bowls, and timber artwork perfect for explorative play.
The playground design was selected following an
multi-stage consultation process with the local community, which started in July 2022.
In an initial survey, respondents expressed that the larger playground at Lake Jualbup gets very busy, and having a separate space for young kids to play safely is important.
Mayor David McMullen said, "The new nature-based junior playground will be enjoyed by kids for many years to come. Well done to our Parks and Environment team, who have delivered an end product that reflects the community engagement and consultation.
“The new playground is ready just in time to be explored over the school holidays.”
