Kerbside Textile Collection is back in April!

The popular household collection service for textiles returns to the City of Subiaco this April following the resounding success of the City’s initial trial in Daglish and parts of Jolimont.

Facilitated by Good Sammy, the kerbside textile collection service makes it easy for residents all over the City to donate pre-loved clothing, accessories and shoes to help create opportunities for locals living with disability.

The process is simple: households will receive a yellow bag from 2 April. Residents then fill the bag, and up to three additional bags, and place them near their letterbox for collection from 15 April. The expanded collection service will include all single-unit dwellings (houses) across Subiaco.

During the trial late last year, participating residents generously donated over 1150kg of quality items to Good Sammy, contributing to a saving of around 32 tonnes of carbon emissions.

Mayor David McMullen underscored the popularity of the initiative, highlighting its positive impact.

“It was remarkable to witness our community’s engagement with our first kerbside textile collection late last year,” he said.

"The success of this initiative wouldn't be possible without the active involvement and support of our residents, who have demonstrated their generosity and commitment to sustainability and the community.”
