April school holidays are fast approaching and we’ve got plenty of fun on across the City for the whole family.
Subiaco Library is holding Art in April in the lead up to the annual Shaun Tan Award with three special illustrators and artists running exciting sessions throughout the holidays.
Learn how to draw sea creatures with artist and illustrator Kylie Howarth, explore line-art and developing protagonists with cartoonist Aśka, or draw your pet using charcoal and other messy mediums with author and illustrator Karen Blair.
There will also be craft activities, like decorating paper fans and using recycled items to make your own game, as well as a teddy bears picnic in the park Storytime with Glenn Swift.
Bookings for library events open
9.30am Monday 28 March.
Details over on our events calendar.
Over at
Lords Recreation Centre, the team have put together a schedule of activities to encourage the kids to get moving, learn new skills and, most importantly, have fun.
Activities include an amazing race style day full of cooking, swimming and games; an Easter fun day with an egg hunt and other special treats; a sports legend day focussed on mastering your skills in soccer and squash; and a survivor style day full of puzzles, challenges and team work.
Lunch and morning tea is provided for select activities, and all sessions finish with a swim in the indoor, heated pool.
Bookings open Monday 21 March.
We also have a
huge number of businesses who are open and ready to welcome you these holidays, whether you’re after a delicious lunch, a spot of shopping, need some well-deserved time out and pampering, or a family outing with a difference (did someone say cat café or ceraminc painting?).
Or if you want to just enjoy the cooler autumn weather and have some outdoor time, the City has loads of
beautiful parks and reserves to explore, many with great playgrounds, wildlife to spot, or barbeque facilities.
Whatever you choose to do with the family these school holidays, the City has you covered.
