From pool and court games to Lego challenges, there’s plenty to keep the kids busy these January school holidays within the City of Subiaco!
Here's a round-up of events and activities for kids at Lords Recreation Centre and Subiaco Library this summer holidays.
Lords Recreation Centre
The friendly team at Lords provide a range of activity days for kids with a focus on learning new skills, building friendships and confidence in group situations, and most importantly, having fun!
Lords school holiday programs are perfect for kids aged six to eleven. Here’s a look at their January school holiday program:
Painting & Panting
Monday 23 January, 9am to 3pm, $65
After playing sports games and swimming in the pool, kids will paint designs on terracotta plant pots to take home and house their favourite flower.
Wildlife Brought To You
Tuesday 24 January, 9am to 3pm, $70
Special guests from West Oz Wildlife are bringing some furry friends to Lords! Meet a koala and a dingo, then enjoy a swim in the pool and some fun court games.
Pool Party
Wednesday 25 January, 9am to 3pm, $65
After some team games and activities on the courts, kids will jump in the pool for some more fun.
Science Day
Friday 27 January, 9am to 3pm, $65
Kids will create volcano explosions and construct edible towers. They’ll also have the chance to play some sports, court games, and swim in the pool.
Clay Creations
Monday 30 January, 9am to 3pm, $65
Kids will enjoy court games, swimming in the pool, and making their own birds out of clay to take home.

Subiaco Library
Bookings for Subiaco Library’s popular school holiday activity programs open on Monday 2 January, so be sure to book quick for the below
free events:
Maker session
Tuesday 17 January, 10:30am to 11:30am
Choose your own art activity; from making aprons, bookends, raffia bracelets or sand art.
Xbox and gaming fun
Tuesday 17 January, 2pm to 3pm
Check out Subiaco Library’s range of brand-new Xbox games. Face off with friends to see who will be the Xbox champion, or catch up over a game of Connect Four, Jenga, UNO or chess.
Spinners unite!
Thursday 19 January, 10:30am to 11:30am
Make your own spinner out of string, buttons and recycled CDs. Kids will also have the chance to paint wooden spinners, and add bling to CDs to make wind spinners.
Games and marble run
Thursday 19 January, 2pm to 3pm
Check out Subiaco’s range of fun games, including Connect Four, Jenga, UNO and chess – or if you’re up for a challenge, make a marble run to rule them all.
Lego Masters Challenge
Kids in years 1 to 3: Tuesday 24 January, 10:30am to 12pm
Kids in years 4 to 6: Tuesday 24 January, 1pm to 2:30pm
Are you ready to compete in a Lego Masters Challenge? You’ll have one hour to build with all the Lego you need to make a masterpiece. Master builders Oisin and Aoife will be on hand with lots of Lego tips and tricks.
