Do you have an old smartphone but don’t know what to do with it?
Thanks to the City of Subiaco’s partnership with the West Metro Recycling Centre (WMRC), you can now donate your old phone to a young person in need.
Local youth charity,
Hello Initiative takes phones donated by City residents and gives them to young people in the social justice system who could use some help.
All you need to do is make sure your phone is reset to its
factory settings, make sure it’s unlocked and you’re ready to help out.
The City of Subiaco and WMRC continue to work together to reduce and recycle the waste generated by residents and businesses.
For example, the
Verge ValetTM bulk waste collection, has been a huge success since being introduced last year.
Residents can also get free mulch through WMRC and attend events and seminars to find out ways to reduce waste going to landfill.
Working with WMRC is proving to be a key pillar of ensuring the City’s sustainability now and into the future.
