Three new Councillors have been sworn in in the City of Subiaco, after all vacant seats were elected unopposed in September.
The newly elected Councillors are Russell Jones in the North Ward, and Penny O’Connor and Nicola Johnston in the Central Ward.
The new Councillors will join returning Councillors Rosemarie De Vries in the North Ward, Mark Burns and Garry Kosovich in the East Ward, Rick Powell and Simon White in the South Ward, and Mayor David McMullen.
The three new Councillors and three returning Councillors were sworn in at a Special Council Meeting last night, in which Garry Kosovich was elected Deputy Mayor.
Mayor David McMullen welcomed the new and returning Councillors.
"The returning Councillors will offer invaluable continuity to the functioning of Council, while the new Councillors bring with them some new skillsets which will be greatly appreciated on Council."
“I’d like to congratulate the newly sworn in Councillors, and new Deputy Mayor. With the 2023 Council we will build on the work that we have put in over the last couple of years."
