Innovative program helps entrepreneurs turn ideas into reality

The City of Subiaco is calling for innovators, start-ups and entrepreneurs to apply for a free six-month program that will help turn business ideas into reality.

The innovative Subiaco Connect program is designed to accelerate, scale-up and commercialise business ideas through a range of mentoring, training and funding opportunities.

Successful applicants will be connected to a community of experienced mentors, investors and advisors delivering valuable guidance and expert advice on commercialisation, including research, assessment, testing, marketing and source funding.

The program will finish with a showcase event where successful applicants will have the opportunity to pitch their business idea to real investors.

Mayor Penny Taylor said the City of Subiaco had the highest concentration of creative businesses in WA and wanted to encourage and build on this with unique programs like this.

“We’ve partnered with industry leaders to deliver programs and events, such as the Subiaco Connect program, to support existing Subiaco businesses, attract new start-ups and entrepreneurs, and inspire the next generation of big thinkers,” she said.

“I want all budding entrepreneurs, start-ups and new business operators to know the City of Subiaco is here to welcome them. We value and support all in our thriving business community.

“This is an easy application process, so I’d encourage you to apply. If you’ve got a business idea, this program could help make it a reality.”

Subiaco Connect is partly funded by the Australian Government Entrepreneurs’ program and will be delivered in partnership with Atomic Sky.

The City of Subiaco has previously partnered with Curtin University, Perth Angels and AustCyber to deliver innovation programs to support and attract small businesses to the area.
