As part of the City’s Waterwise Verge Rebate Program for 2024, the City is hosting two family-friendly Waterwise Verge and Garden workshops to show what is really involved in creating a sustainable, waterwise garden.
The workshops, led by The Forever Project team, will see an existing garden bed transformed into a dynamic landscape of local flora species and a habitat for wildlife.
During the session, you’ll learn how to improve your soil with simple techniques, the best way to add native plants to your garden, tips for weed management, and plenty of inspiration to kick off your own waterwise gardening project at home.
Registrations are essential and places are limited. Remember to bring gloves, trowel, a drink bottle and a hat.

Attendance at one of these workshops is mandatory if you’d like to be eligible for the City’s Waterwise Verge Rebate Program. Within the program, $500 rebates are available for verges larger than 80 square metres, $250 is available for verges smaller than 80 square metres, and funding is also available for unit blocks at the City’s discretion.
