Climbing wall, parkour and slide coming to Rosalie

A climbing wall, parkour elements, and a large slide will soon be available for community use at Rosalie Park.

It’s all part of Stage Two of the mixed-used community space which activates a previously underutilised area of the popular park.

Stage One of the project – which opened in April 2022 – has been well received by the community who can now play basketball, cricket, tennis, netball and ping pong at Rosalie, as well as plant and pick fresh produce from the community garden beds.

As well as a climbing wall, parkour elements, and a large slide from the top of embankment down to the basketball court, Stage Two will also bring outdoor fitness bars, and balance rocks and logs for the kids.

New soakwells in the space will be colourfully painted by community members upon completion.

Mayor David McMullen said it was great to see the project coming together.

“Stage Two of the mixed-use community space at Rosalie is due to open in November; and it’s great to see the additional elements already taking shape,” he said.

“Everything was designed with extensive community consultation. Stage One has been well received, especially by the local school students who – from all reports – have been enjoying it extensively.

“I’m looking forward to seeing the project complete and hearing what our community makes of the completed space.”

Keep an eye on the City’s website and Facebook for more on the project closer to completion date.
