Subiaco Primary School students got a break from the indoor classroom this week to do some hands-on learning in the great outdoors, thanks to City staff.
The City received a request from Subiaco Primary School to host a park tour and chat in Theatre Gardens with passionate environmental staff snapping up the opportunity to teach the next generation.
Staff spoke about how they care for our parks and environment, as well as chatting about the benefits of caring for urban forest and how we can all contribute.
The pre-primary kids were enthusiastic, sharing why they love trees, where they would like more trees, and how we can care for our environment.
Many of them already had a sound understanding of why we need to look after our trees and environment which staff were able to build on.
The City has just finished up a number of National Tree Day events, including a community planting day event at Mabel Talbot Park and planting days with Subiaco Primary School and Jolimont Primary School students.
