As part of its Community Partnerships program, the City of Subiaco has renewed its partnership with Earthwise Community Association.
Located in the United Church building at 315 Bagot Road, Earthwise is a not-for-profit organisation that supports disadvantaged people through the provision of nutritious food, low-cost clothing, and homeware items.
Within the Earthwise centre there is a volunteer-run op-shop, a permaculture garden system, regular music nights, a Thursday community lunch for $5 per serve, and heavily discounted food supplied by Food Bank.
Earthwise is a very interactive place for people to contribute to community life through gardening, cooking, creating art, and socialising with others.
This partnership between Earthwise and the City of Subiaco will provide a financial contribution to Earthwise’s environmental workshops to encourage sustainable living practices, upgrades for vital equipment such as fridges and freezers that store charity food, workshops for Harmony Day, sustainable waste management activities, and more.
Mayor David McMullen said, “The City is pleased to be able to support Earthwise, for a number of reasons. Not only are they supporting disadvantaged people within our community, they are doing it with a commitment to sustainability - which really aligns with the City’s priorities.
The City of Subiaco is pleased to partner with organisations which have a positive impact on the community. To read more about the City’s partnerships program, including current partnerships, visit this link: www.subiaco.wa.gov.au/partnerships.
