In May 2020, the (now former) Minister for Local Government initiated an Authorised Inquiry into the City of Subiaco, in response to prior circumstances and events.
This year, the City has been in regular contact with the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries (the Department). At its Ordinary Council Meeting on 28 June 2022, with residual action items largely complete, Council endorsed completion of the review.
The City of Subiaco has now received correspondence from the Department confirming that the City's implementation of the Inquiry recommendations is complete.
Mayor David McMullen said, “This Inquiry is a reminder of a different time - a past era - for the City of Subiaco.
“Our City is led by a contemporary, professional, Council; and we are supported by a CEO and staff who work effectively and productively to deliver results for our community.
“In 2023, Council will continue to lead the way in good governance, and representation for our community.”
City of Subiaco CEO Colin Cameron said, “Our endorsed approach to implementing the Inquiry recommendations was very much focused on the future, given so much had changed.
“It has been an amazing year of achievements for the City, undertaken with trust and respect by Council and staff on behalf of our community.”
