Boards, Bobs and Bagatelle

Come along to Subiaco Museum and enjoy playing some of our old-fashioned indoor games.

The Subiaco Museum has its very own game of Bobs, also known as Table Bobs, in its collection which dates back to the 1920s. It was donated by a Subiaco family and will be on display with some other games from the collection.

Bobs was based on the British game of Billiards but does not require a Billiards table. This means it can be played almost anywhere. Before World War II it was a very popular in Australia and played in people’s home with family and friends.

Visitors to the museum are invited to play with the new Bobs set along with some other vintage games including the very popular Bagatelle parlor game where the idea is to land balls in scoring areas enclosed by nails set into the board.

Have some fun indoors at the Subiaco Museum playing board games, Bobs and Bagatelle.
