The City of Subiaco experienced a boundary change on 1 July 2016, which saw the portion of the City south of Aberdare Road shifted to the City of Perth. The City of Subiaco population forecast  for 2026 is 19,704 which is expected to grow to 26,679 by 2054.

At the same time, residential forecasts  predict the number of dwellings in the City of Subiaco will increase from 9,818 in 2026 to 14,445 in 2054.
