Applying for a job at the City of Subiaco

Ready to join us in creating a place the community loves? You can view and apply for our current vacancies through My Careers portal.

Please note: Our recruitment process is now managed on My Careers. If you previously applied for a role at the City, you will need to create a new account to submit your application.

How to apply

Applications are completed online through the My Careers portal.

  1. Find a job – browse our current opportunities and select the position that interests you.

  2. Read the job advertisement – Carefully read the job advertisement, including the requirements and closing date.

  3. Select Apply – follow the instructions to begin your application.

  4. Complete your application – enter the required information and upload any requested documents, such as your resume and cover letter.

  5. Submit your application.

  6. Check your email – we will send you an email asking you to confirm your application.

  7. Confirm your application – click the confirmation link in the email to complete your application.

Important: Your application is not complete until you select the confirmation link sent to your email.

Once confirmed, you will receive another email letting you know that your application has been successfully submitted.

Before you apply

Before starting your application, take some time to review the job advertisement and position information carefully.

It may be helpful to have the following ready:

  • an accessible email address

  • your current resume

  • a cover letter (if requested)

  • responses to any application questions or selection criteria

You do not need to provide identification documents during the initial application process. Our team will reach out to you for this information at the appropriate stage of the recruitment process.

No. You can start your first application without creating an account. After you submit your application, we will send you an email asking you to confirm your application.

Once you confirm your application, your My Careers account will be created. You can use this account to view and manage your applications and apply for other jobs with the City.

Yes. You can use a computer, tablet or smartphone to access the My Careers portal.

If you have difficulty completing your application on a phone or tablet, you may find it easier to use a computer.

Yes. You can apply for more than one current vacancy.

You will need to submit a separate application for each job. Once your My Careers account has been created, some of your saved information can be used when applying for other vacancies.

No. The City only accepts applications for jobs that are currently advertised and does not keep resumes on file for future vacancies.

After you apply

After you submit your application, we will send you an email asking you to confirm your application.

Select the link in the email to confirm your application.

Once you have done this, you will receive another email confirming that your application has been successfully submitted.

First, check your Junk or Spam email folder. It may also take a few minutes for the email to arrive.

If you still cannot find the email, please contact us for assistance.

You must confirm your application using the link sent to your email.

If you do not confirm your application within 72 hours, it will be automatically deleted, and you will need to apply again.

After you confirm your first application, you will receive an email explaining how to access your My Careers account.

You can use your account to:

  • View your applications

  • Manage your application details

  • Withdraw an application

  • Apply for other jobs with the City.

Select Forgot password on the My Careers portal login page and follow the instructions.

A password reset email will be sent to the email address linked to your account. Check your Junk or Spam folder if you do not receive it.

You can view or withdraw your application through your My Careers account.

If you need to change something in an application you have already submitted, please contact the City for assistance.

Yes. You can withdraw an application through your My Careers account.

Applications should be submitted and confirmed before the closing date and time shown in the job advertisement.

If you experience technical difficulties while applying, please contact the City as soon as possible.

You can log in to your My Careers account to view your applications.

We will contact you if your application progresses or if we need more information from you. Recruitment timeframes may vary depending on the position.

Identification and pre-employment checks

You will only be asked to provide identification during the later stages of the recruitment process.

If we need identification or other documents from you, we will call you to explain what is needed and send you an email on how to upload the documents securely through the My Careers portal.

Do not upload or send identity documents unless the City has asked you to provide them.

The documents required will depend on the position and any pre-employment checks that apply.
