Making a maker space

Subiaco Library is working on making a maker space, we are growing the equipment available for use and would love to hear what else you would like.

Drop us an email at library@subiaco.wa.gov.au with any suggestions for our maker space. 

Podcasting equipment is available to use free at Subiaco Library in The Nook meeting room. The equipment is the RODECaster Pro, useful for recording audio and live audio control (similar to DJ equipment). 

Equipment available includes:

  • RODECaster Pro

  • Two microphones

  • Two headphones

  • Bring your own micro-SD card for recording

The RODECaster Pro Companion App is designed to ensure the seamless connection between the podcaster and a computer. Download the free app for either Mac or Windows. 

To book the podcasting equipment and The Nook meeting room open the tab below, complete The Nook booking form and agree to the terms and conditions. Library staff will send you a booking confirmation email once your submission has been reviewed.  

The Art Tablet is free to use within The Nook meeting room at Subiaco Library. The tablet is the Wacom Cintiq 16, a creative pen HD display for digital drawing, painting and illustration. This runs with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, sketchbook and other drawing programs. 
Bring your own device to link up to the Art Tablet.

To book the Art Tablet and The Nook meeting room open the tab below, complete The Nook booking form and agree to the terms and conditions. Library staff will send you a booking confirmation email once your submission has been reviewed.  

All maker space equipment must be borrowed on site at Subiaco Library. To book the equipment you will need to make a booking to use The Nook meeting room. 

The Nook is Subiaco Library's general purpose meeting space available to members of the public, community groups, organisations and clubs. The room is free to book for groups of up to 12 people for up to two hours at a time. The room cannot be used for any profitable or business related activities.
