The Rowland Street carpark is set to be upgraded to improve safety, accessibility, and day-to-day usability.
These works, which are set to commence on Tuesday 7 April, will be completed in stages to ensure minimal disruption to the overall carpark. Access will be maintained on Rowland and Xanthis Lanes throughout the construction period, and works will be sequenced so that only one third of the carpark is closed at any one time.
Works include new pavement and resurfacing, clearer line marking and signage, improved drainage, upgraded kerbs, footpaths and pram ramps, additional landscaping, and safer pedestrian and vehicle movement opportunities.
The works are anticipated to take six to eight weeks.
This carpark upgrade is part of a wider Rowland Street Precinct improvement project, which includes new public art murals, this carpark renewal, and an upgrade to Kannis Lane as part of the Subi Greenwalks project.
