Two new murals on the way

Two new murals are currently being installed a few steps away from Rokeby Road.

The first mural, located at the rear of 173 to 175 Rokeby Road (right nearby Cherubino City Cellar), is being painted by Leanne Bray (pictured) and takes inspiraiton from the blooms of local jacaranda and poinciana trees.

The artwork reimagines the playful, curving forms of spaghetti, giving a nod to the neighbouring Delisio Italian restaurant. It features colourful geometric patterns that pays homage to the '50s and '60s.

The second mural, painted by Graeme Miles Richards and located in the laneway between 173-175 and 177 Rokeby Road, features a collection of miniature scenes that are designed to be discovered up clsoe.

Drawing upon his earlier work 'Whimsey on Walmsley' (which can be found in Walmsley Lane, next to Bar Amelie), this new piece extends on Graeme's imaginary world, where objects take flight and penguins continue their fight for equal rights...

Both murals are set to be finished and unveiled in the coming weeks. Stay tuned on the City's website and Facebook page for future updates.
