International Day of People with Disability program
In celebration of International Day of People with Disability (IDPwD), the City is hosting a range of inclusive, all-ability events.
From Thursday 28 November to Saturday 7 December, these events offer a unique opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate diversity and build a deeper understanding of the incredible abilities within our community.
Learn about the benefits of teaching your little one to communicate using sign language at our
Baby Signing Information Session at Subiaco Library.
Delight in captivating story with two sessions of Auslan Baby Rhymetime – on
Monday 2 December and
Wednesday 4 December – as well as
Auslan Christmas Storytime,
Auslan Storytime and the immersive
Sensory Storytime with Sensorium Theatre.
Join us for our special information session
ADHD in Adulthood: Understanding, Accepting, and Thriving, which will provide actionable strategies and resources for those who are newly diagnosed, suspect they may have ADHD or are looking to support a family member, friend or colleague.
Enjoy a day of
All Abilities Wheelchair Football at Lords Recreation Centre hosted by WA All Abilities Football Association. Special guest Rhiannon Clarke, 2024 Paralympian, will be there to share her inspiring story.
Learn more about your child’s development and behaviour at the
Positive Parenting for Children with Disability workshop at Subiaco Library.
The program will wrap up with our fifth annual community art exhibition
Nothing about Us, Without Us at Subiaco Arts Centre. Made possibly by a partnership between Mission Australia and the City, the exhibition provides an exciting platform for emerging and mid-career artists living with disability.
All events are free but registration is essential.
