Community safety workshops to be held at library

Library event

The City will be hosting two community safety workshops at Subiaco Library, including a session with Dr Karl O'Callaghan, former Commissioner of Police for Western Australia.

Dr Karl's community safety talk, which will take place on Friday 24 April from 6pm to 7.30pm, will see him share insights from his extensive career in law enforcement, including practical perspectives on community safety and the role individuals and communities can play in creating safer, more connected neighbourhoods.

Drawing on his leadership experience and ongoing community work, he will also explore the link between safety, wellbeing, and strong community relationships. Registrations are essential.

Prior to Dr Karl's session, there will be a 'Secure Your Home' session, on Friday 20 March from 6pm to 7.30pm.

This session is focused on simple actions that can reduce opportunistic burglary risk. It will feature a talk from Khabeer Rockley, a Perth-based physical security consultant and Director of Smartsec Security Solutions, who will share a series of simple steps that can strengthen home safety. Registrations essential.

These sessions are part of the City's commitment to supporting a safe, informed, and resilient community. View  the City's Community Safety Framework for more information.
