Parking machine upgrade begins across the City of Subiaco

The City of Subiaco is replacing its ageing parking machines with a modern fleet to improve the parking experience for residents, businesses, and visitors.

The upgrade includes consolidating the fleet and cleaning up streetscapes, with fewer physical machines across the City.

Aligning with contemporary parking management practices used by other inner-city local governments across Australia, virtual pay stations will complement the new physical machines.

Nine selected locations will become virtual-payment stations: six on-street areas and three off-street car parks. EasyPark will remain a payment option throughout all car stations. Physical machines will remain available throughout the City, including those that accept cash in areas where this payment option remains in demand.

Parking fees remain unchanged and parking is still free on weekends and after 5pm on weekdays.

Works begin this week and will continue in stages until mid to late December 2026.

How virtual payment works

Virtual pay stations let motorists use a smartphone to pay through a secure webpage. There is no app to download or account to create, and parking fees remain unchanged.

The EasyPark app remains a separate payment option.

Plan your visit

Signage and parking maps are available to support motorists during the transition.

Free parking remains available after 5pm on weekdays and all weekend in the City’s paid street parking areas and SubiPark car parks. Check signs for parking conditions.

Motorists who cannot use their phone to pay at a virtual location can move their vehicle to parking with a suitable card or cash machine, or to suitable free parking.
