Last night, the City of Subiaco celebrated the exceptional talent of local photographers at the 2024 Photographic Awards ceremony, held at the Subiaco Library.
This year’s awards, the largest yet, attracted more than 1000 entries from 337 photographers across all age groups, making it a truly remarkable event.
The winners of the 2024 Photographic Awards are as follows:
Overall Category: Lal Perera for Nick Cave
Open Category: Cole Baxter for Moorditj Maaman
Subiaco Category: Blair Johnson for Green Light
Mobile Category: Richard Goodwin for Here Dog and Him
Kids Category: Imogen Teh for City Night
AI Category: Irina Santos for Connecting People and Desert
Resident Category: Paul Harrison for New Post
Youth Category: Sophie Coffey for Sunset Reflections
Mayor David McMullen acknowledged the incredible accomplishments of the winners.
"The City of Subiaco's Photographic Awards have once again showcased the impressive talent and creativity within our community,” he said.
“The diversity of the entries, from landscapes to AI-generated images, reflects the unique perspectives and artistic spirit that can be found in our own backyard; and the evolution of photography as a modern artform.
“Congratulations to all the winners for their outstanding contributions."
The exhibition, featuring 92 finalist photographs, will be on display at the Subiaco Library until Sunday 8 September. Visitors are encouraged to view the exhibition and cast their vote for the People’s Choice Award, which will be announced after the exhibition closes.
