Subiaco Library and Barking Gecko Theatre team up for Storytime

The City is thrilled to announce an exciting new collaboration at Subiaco Library.

Starting this month, Barking Gecko Theatre, Western Australia's premier theatre company for children and families, will join the Subiaco Library's Storytime on the last Friday of each month at 10.30am.

These sessions are designed to be interactive, engaging and fun, offering a new way for children to connect with stories and enhance their love of reading.

Mayor David McMullen said the new initiative will be a major draw card for young families.

We look forward to seeing families at Storytime and witnessing the joy and creativity that Barking Gecko Theatre will undoubtedly bring to our library," he said.

“This is an opportunity for our youngest residents to engage with stories in a dynamic and interactive way."

Barking Gecko’s Artistic Director, Sam Longley, will be facilitating the interactive sessions. With over two decades working in the arts, his extensive experience and enthusiasm for storytelling promise to make them a highlight for children and their families.

"Storytelling is at the heart of what we do at Barking Gecko Theatre, and we’re excited to share this passion with the Subiaco community," said Sam Longley.

"We look forward to creating magical Storytime experiences that will inspire and captivate young minds."

Storytime with Barking Gecko will take place on the last Friday of each month. Visit our events page for more information.
