Subiaco has once again burst into colour and community spirit, with tens of thousands of visitors descending on the precinct for the biggest and brightest Subi Blooms x Gather festival to date.

Held across the Mother’s Day weekend, the event introduced a new after-dark experience, transforming the streets into a glowing floral wonderland under this year’s theme, Flora Aurora, with 18 displays and an inflatable floral art installation captivating record crowds day and night.

Today, the spirit of Subi Blooms continues in a heartfelt way. Hundreds of flowers from the festival are being thoughtfully repurposed into bouquets, thanks to volunteers from Recycled Blooms.

These arrangements will be gifted to new mothers and dedicated hospital staff at King Edward Memorial Hospital and St John of God Hospital, Subiaco, as a gesture of care, gratitude, and shared joy.

Delivered by City of Subiaco staff alongside students from Subiaco Primary School, who lovingly hand-painted the bouquet wrapping, each posy carries with it the colour and warmth of the festival, extending its impact beyond the streets and into moments of new life and compassion.

Wrapping up its eighth year, the festival continues to bloom on both the national and international stage. This year’s program featured globally renowned florist Bryce Heyworth of September Studio, in collaboration with Fox & Rabbit. Also, a crowd favourite this year was The Light Within, a giant, illuminated public artwork by Matthew Aberline and The Beautiful and Useful Studio, which transformed Market Square Park into an immersive, sensory experience.

City of Subiaco Mayor David McMullen said the festival’s evolution places it firmly as a highlight of the City's events calendar.

“Subi Blooms continues to grow each year, and 2026 has been our most dynamic and popular season yet. We've seen Subiaco come alive with colour, creativity and connection, with significant numbers of visitors coming into our City to enjoy the occasion. For many, this has become a Mother's Day weekend tradition."

Proudly presented by See Subiaco, a City of Subiaco initiative, Subi Blooms continues to bring artists, families, locals, and visitors together, not only in celebration but in connection, generosity, and the simple power of flowers to brighten someone’s day.
