Partnership to support community garden

The City has partnered with the Wandana Community Association (WCA) to help fund an ongoing important community project – the Wandana Community Garden.

The signing of the agreement took place last week and included a morning tea and special guests, including Deputy Mayor Stephanie Stroud.

According to WCA, volunteers in the gardens can now look forward to improved equipment and supplies, pop-up library events, re-painting of the benches and garden busy bees.

The shared allotment will continue to be used for important community events and get-togethers.

Gardens like this one have been shown to play an important role in helping bring communities together while improving their overall health and wellbeing.

The City has previously contributed to the Wandana Community Garden financially and through ongoing maintenance.
