No More Blank Walls Subi success

NMBW 3013
Subiaco’s streets have been transformed into a bright canvas of creativity, as the No More Blank Walls Subi festival recently wrapped up welcoming almost 48,000 spectators over its 10 days.

The festival, which featured stunning street art and unique events, attracted locals and visitors alike with close to 70 per cent of attendees reportedly making the trip from outside of Subi for the festival, highlighting the event’s wide appeal.

Close to 100 per cent of attendees surveyed (96 per cent) had a positive experience, with many sighting that they enjoyed the ‘quality and creativity of the street art/murals’.

Organised by Blank Walls – an international street art company founded in Perth by Jerome Davenport, Will Clark, and Alex Harvey – the festival showcased the transformative power of street art.

"No More Blank Walls Subi has shown the incredible potential of street art to drive economic development and attract visitors to Subiaco," Will Clark said.

"The festival has brought people from across Perth and beyond, energising local businesses and putting Subiaco on the map as a vibrant, creative destination.

"It’s inspiring to see how art can not only revitalise public spaces but also contribute to the City’s growth and vitality.

"It’s been particularly exciting to welcome renowned artists from overseas and the east coast, many of whom had never painted in Perth before. Their contributions have bolstered the diversity of mural art in the City, adding fresh perspectives and enriching the local creative landscape."

Jerome Davenport said, "The increased foot traffic has been a win for local businesses, and as the murals serve as long-term attractions, we've given people even more reasons to visit Subiaco well into the future."

No More Blank Walls was presented by See Subiaco, a City of Subiaco initiative.
