After a fire damaged the building at 241 Rokeby Road in September last year, Council meetings have been held at a variety of locations; Customer Service moved to 19 Bishop Street; and staff have been working across multiple City facilities and from home.
The City of Subiaco has now secured a lease of new premises in the heart of Subiaco – Level 2, 388 Hay Street.
As well as being in close proximity to Subiaco Train Station and major transport routes, the building is serviced by a 75-bay public car park, and convenient street parking.
City of Subiaco Mayor David McMullen said, “Having adapted and made do remarkably well over the past months, Elected Members and staff are looking forward to our move to 388 Hay Street. These facilities will equip us to continue to deliver high quality services, initiatives and events to our community over the next few years.
“We are particularly pleased to be relocating to the heart of Subiaco, at this exciting and prosperous time for our City.
"The term of the lease will enable the City's ongoing work, investigating a demolition and rebuild of the old Council and Administration building at 241 Rokeby Road, to meet the City's needs well into the future."
The new premises are currently being fitted out. Until up and running, Council Meetings will continue to be run out of 241 Rokeby Road and Customer Service will remain at 19 Bishop Street, Jolimont.
