New depot site for City

The City of Subiaco has been granted a Management Order at John XXIII Avenue in Mount Claremont, for the construction of a new depot.

The site, which once housed the Western Power depot, will be used to construct a new, fit-for-purpose depot for members of the City’s Technical Services staff.

Management Orders for the site were also granted to the City of Vincent and Town of Claremont, and all three local governments are working collaboratively to identify opportunities for shared infrastructure and operational efficiencies.

Mayor David McMullen said the new depot will greatly benefit our residents and community.

“The City is responsible for a wide range of services, and it’s essential our depot is well-equipped to ensure we continue to provide high quality waste management, and maintenance of parks, buildings, car parks, and other facilities.

“This new municipal depot will help the City to not only meet, but exceed its service levels now, and into the future.”

The City’s current depot is also located in Mount Claremont, and has presented a number of logistical challenges that will be addressed with the new site.

Stay tuned on the City’s website for future updates on the new depot.
