Lunchtime pickleball coming soon

Socostudios_MOI_7328
Lords Recreation Centre is launching Perth’s first lunchtime Pickleball corporate competition as part of the Rokeby Games.

The Rokeby Games launched earlier this year as a way for local businesses to be active on their lunch break while having fun with other professionals in the area.

After multiple successful seasons of volleyball, the City is now introducing Pickleball  for a short five-week season from 24 October.

Pickleball is an inclusive, easy-to-learn paddle sport that is taking off in the sporting world; it’s often described as a blend of tennis, badminton and ping-pong.

Each Thursday, games will last 30 minutes with fixtures between 11.30am and 1.30pm, giving players time to play the match during their lunch break and freshen up before heading back to the office.

Registration is $100 per team (two players) for the season; this includes court and equipment, scoring and ladders, and use of the showers and changing room facilities (which includes a sauna – just saying).

Players also get a free pass to experience Lords’ facilities, including the split-level gym with state-of-the-art equipment and the option of over 80 group fitness classes.

For more information or to sign up, head to the Lords website.
