Low waste gift wrapping stall
The City of Subiaco and Western Metropolitan Regional Council (WMRC) waste teams will be bringing festive cheer and sustainability together at the Subi Farmers Market with free low waste gift wrapping.
Anyone from the community can come along to the markets on Saturday 14 December with their presents and the team will wrap them for free using reusable and recycled materials.
Mayor David McMullen said this is a great initiative that promoted a culture of reusing and recycling.
"The festive season can be a time of excess but it’s also an opportunity to reduce, reuse and recycle," he said.
"The City prioritises sustainability and this is a prime example of how you can easily make a difference. Come along and get some presents wrapped; and take some ideas away with you, to continue your sustainable gift wrapping at home this year."
The Subi Farmers Markets is on from 8am to 12pm at Subiaco Primary School (271 Bagot Road).
Gifts must be no bigger than a shoebox size. Gold coin donations are welcome with all proceeds going to Give Write (through the Western Metropolitan Regional Council).
