Subiaco Library has launched a brand-new language series at its pop-up library at 241 Rokeby Road, kicking off on Thursday 29 February with an Introduction to Italian.
The series will feature free, three-hour classes run by the Multicultural Language Centre. Based in Subiaco, the centre has hosted language classes for the local community for more than 14 years.
Each class will be led by an experienced teacher in a fun and relaxed environment, with exercises that involve real-life situations to encourage students to pick up basic phrases, and gain confidence in conversation.
Classes run from 10am to 1pm, and languages include Introduction to Italian on Thursday 29 February, Introduction to French on Thursday 28 March, and Introduction to Spanish on Thursday 18 April.
Mayor David McMullen emphasised the value that these classes, alongside other library programs, can bring to the Subiaco community.
“Subiaco Library’s programming includes events for people of all ages and a wide range of interests,” he said.
“These free language classes provide a valuable opportunity for our community to pick up a new skill, meet new people, and put their new language skills into practice with instructors who have more than a decade of experience right here in Subiaco.”
Bookings for these classes are essential via
