Thank you to everyone who has shared their feedback on the proposed design for the City of Subiaco’s new civic building and gardens so far.
We’ve noticed a number of key themes emerging, including:
- Road safety and walkability – there’s a strong interest in making the surrounding streets more pedestrian-friendly, particularly for those moving through the precinct day-to-day.
- More greenery, less hardscaping - the community has expressed a strong preference for generous lawn areas and retaining as much existing greenery as possible.
- The roses – the presence of the roses holds sentimental value for some members of the community.
- Plentiful seating - ensuring the gardens remain comfortable, accessible and welcoming for all ages is a clear community priority.
The redevelopment of the Civic Precinct is a unique opportunity to create a contemporary, welcoming and enduring space that will serve the community for the next 50 to 100 years and your feedback is invaluable to help shape it.
