Elected Members were appointed to a number of external committees at this week’s Ordinary Council Meeting to represent the City of Subiaco and advocate for the community’s interests.
The following representatives were appointed to the following committees:

Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA) – Central Metropolitan Zone Committee
To advocate and negotiate on behalf of the WA local government sector in the best interests of its member councils. The committee provides input into policy formulation and provides advice on various matters.

Recommend local government road funding priorities the State Road Funds to Local Government program.

Metro Inner-North Joint Development Assessment Panel
Development assessment panels were established as an independent decision-making panel that report directly to the Minister for Planning. They consist of 3 specialist members and 2 local government members.

Subiaco Land Redevelopment Committee
This committee performs decision making functions relating to their relevant area and provides recommendations to the DevelopmentWA board.
Elected Members are nominated to be considered for selection by the Minister for Lands.

The Mayor also represents the City at the Western Suburbs Regional Organisation of Councils (WESROC) – a voluntary collaborative partnership of Councils which aims to facilitate and coordinate activities designed to promote community and economic development within the region, and to enhance the capacity of member local governments.
The following Elected Members and community representatives were also appointed to the City’s advisory committees at this week’s meeting.
These committees help advise Council to assist with decision-making.
