Cultural Storytimes celebrating diversity at Subiaco Library
Subiaco Library's Cultural Storytimes are well underway, with Mandarin, Japanese and Italian sessions coming up in the next few weeks.
The storytimes, which are supported by the Australian Library and Information Association's Community Cohesion grant funding, are perfect for kids under 5 and include 30 minutes of storytelling and 30 minutes of playtime or crafting.
The below storytime sessions are coming up soon:
- Mandarin Storytime, Friday 20 February, 10.30am to 11.30am. Join librarian Yubao for a story read in Mandarin, and then take part in dressing your own paper person to celebrate Chinese New Year.
- Japanese Storytime, Friday 13 March, 10.30am to 11.30am. Join City of Subiaco staff member Ayana for a story read in Japanese, and then paint your own paper fan with watercolours.
- Italian Storytime, Friday 20 March, 10.30am to 11.30am. Listen to a story read in Italian by Museum Curator Jessica, then take part in decorating Easter eggs.
All sessions will take place at Subiaco Library, and bookings are recommended.
