Creativity across Subi with SPACEMRKT this December

Subiaco is bursting with creativity this festive season, with plenty of pop-ups taking shape in the lead-up to Christmas as part of the City’s partnership with creative placemakers SPACEMRKT.

Here’s a round-up of SPACEMRKT happenings in Subiaco this month!

Side by Side pop-up shop
A ceramic pop-up shop is opening at 83 Rokeby Road from Wednesday 3 December, called ‘Side by Side’. This shop brings together five ceramic artists and a curated selection of imported Japanese goods that are all designed to “delight the senses and elevate the everyday”. Pop in to discover a unique Christmas gift.

The shop is open until Christmas Day, on Tuesdays to Fridays from 12pm to 6pm and on Saturdays from 9am to 5pm. Visit Kura Studio’s Instagram for more information.

Emma Benichou: RESONANCE Exhibition
Born and raised in Subiaco, artist Emma Benichou’s RESONANCE is a new body of work that traces the emotional and energetic intelligence of the Western Australian landscape.

Working in oil and acrylic on canvas and gouache on paper, Emma creates atmospheric paintings that evoke subtle forces of light, matter and movement.

This exhibition is open at 484 Hay Street, with an opening night on Friday 5 December from 5pm to 8pm. It will be open on weekends from 11am to 4pm, or by appointment, from Friday 5 December to Saturday 20 December. Visit Emma Benichou’s website for more information.
