City’s Planning team nominated for state awards

Park St
The City of Subiaco’s Planning team has been nominated for four awards in the WA Awards for Planning Excellence, facilitated by the Planning Institute of Australia.

The nominations include Local Government Team of the Year, Improving Planning Processes, Performance and Innovation in Development, and Emerging Planner of the Year for Senior Strategic Planning Officer Emily Robertson.

Projects featured in the nominations include Park Street Heritage Area, demonstrating the City’s transformative approach to heritage planning through community engagement and empowerment, and the ‘Regal Subiaco’ development proposal, which balances urban growth, heritage conservation, accessibility, and community benefit to create a replicable model for heritage-constrained sites.

Mayor David McMullen said, “These nominations continue the recognition of our Planning team, for their industry-leading, innovative work. The team’s focus on high quality and sustainable development, productive partnerships with industry, and emphasis on community engagement and benefit, will no doubt put them in a strong position to bring home an award - as they have done at PIA's WA awards the past two years.”

Winners will be announced at a ceremony in November 2025.
