At its Ordinary Council Meeting on Tuesday 24 June 2025, Council endorsed the publication of the City of Subiaco Council Plan 2025-2035; a document that will guide the next 10 years of priorities for the City.
The Council Plan contains a renewed 10-year community vision for the City of Subiaco to be “A diverse, welcoming community shaped by its rich history and celebrated for its green spaces, lifestyles, and culture.”
Supported by this vision, the Plan has five strategic pillars reflecting priorities for the community, environment, economy, places, and the organisation.
These five pillars are titled: ‘Connected Community’, ‘Flourishing Environment’, ‘Vibrant Economy’, ‘Liveable Places’, and ‘Leading Organisation’.
Key projects outlined in the Plan include the City-wide Subi Streets Movement and Place Framework, 40km/h speed limits throughout local residential roads, Civic Precinct Redevelopment, Reconciliation Action Plan implementation, town centre activations, streetscape upgrades, and more.
Mayor David McMullen said, “This Council Plan puts community at the forefront, and sets a clear roadmap for our next 10 years as a City. We’ve listened to and consulted with our community; and we know this is a community who are passionate about events, better public spaces, greener streets and smarter traffic management.
“We’ve also heard about the importance that our community places on nightlife; local businesses; Subi's heritage; and ongoing engagement, connection and dialogue.
“What we now have is a plan, endorsed by Council, shaped by community, and informed by our close working relationship with City staff. The clarity and alignment of priorities found within the new Council Plan is a foundation on which to carry the City forward in the coming years."
