City supports Mid-Autumn Festival day this September
Lion dancing, glowing lanterns, food stalls and plenty of family-friendly activities are coming to ONE Subiaco this Saturday 20 September as part of the Mid-Autumn Festival, celebrating the traditions of Asia!
The event, hosted by MCQ Subiaco in collaboration with Food Hub Central and proudly supported by See Subiaco, will feature a delicious line-up of Asian street food, including Indonesian satay, Pad Thai noodles, Japanese gyoza, Taiwanese hotcakes, fresh durian and much more.
Plus, MCQ Street Food will be serving up authentic Vietnamese street food at their storefront in the ONE Subiaco precinct.
There will also be free mooncake tastings, and plenty of free kids’ activities including face painting, balloon art, and lantern-making.
The GDPT Chanh Tin Lion Dance Troupe will take the stage for a special lion dancing performance at 5pm, complete with firecrackers to light up the night.
Mayor David McMullen said this is set to be a vibrant celebration of culture and community.
“The City is proud to support the Mid-Autumn Festival at MCQ Subiaco. The event is a fantastic opportunity for our community to come together and celebrate the rich cultural traditions of Asia. With the weather warming up, there’s no better time of year to visit Subiaco and support the local businesses making this festival happen.”
See Subiaco is a City of Subiaco initiative.
