The City of Subiaco has again been recognised as a Gold Waterwise Council as part of the Water Corporation’s Waterwise Council Program.
The City has been a waterwise Council since 2011 and was one of the first Councils to achieve gold recognition back in 2016.
The Water Corporation commended the City for its efforts in Water Sensitive Urban Design, demonstrated through a variety of urban greening projects, and including the implementation of soak wells, raingardens, and new greening concepts.
The City was also commended for its dedication to enhancing waterway health and water quality improvements.
Other notable waterwise actions implemented by the City over the years include the Native Plant Subsidy Scheme which is returning in May, eco-zoned gardens in City parks, and regular community planting events that utilise native plants.
