In just three years, a series of major milestones have been achieved as part of the City of Subiaco’s digital transformation project with TechnologyOne.
The project, which commenced in 2023, has seen more TechnologyOne modules go live in this period than any other local government in Western Australia. The City was also the first local government in Australia to purchase TechnologyOne’s Plus, which will enable the City to analyse its own data to perform tasks, inform decision-making, and identify and predict trends.
The City has also achieve the fastest full OneCouncil go-live in Western Australia.
These modules span a range of resident and staff operations; offering an improved and efficient digital platform for rates, pet registrations and renewals, online services including bin requests and street maintenance, business applications, and building and permit applications.
These upgrades have created one place for residents, business owners and visitors to report issues, submit applications, make payments, and track the progress of their requests online. It has also improved processes for City staff, empowering teams to allocate, monitor, and respond to requests efficiently across the organisation.
Throughout this process, several outdated legacy systems utilised by the City have been decommissioned, furthering efforts to ensure staff are all working in the same modern system, whilst also improving the City’s cyber security posture.
CEO Colin Cameron said the City’s digital transformation journey is continuing to go from strength to strength.
“Our progress has been significant. The sheer amount of TechnologyOne modules that we have delivered in just three years reflects how bold our original plan was, and how much willingness, hard work, and cooperation from across the organisation has gone into the project,” he said.
“The time that we are saving through these TechnologyOne modules (with more to come), enables our staff, volunteers, and contractors to spend their time serving our community, to ensure we can meet their needs now and into the future.”
Ben Malpass, Executive Vice President for Local Government at TechnologyOne said “This go-live with the City of Subiaco demonstrates what’s possible with strong leadership from council and collaboration with us at TechnologyOne to demonstrate rapid time to value. Delivered on time, it marks the fastest full OneCouncil go-live in Western Australia, a testament to Subiaco’s commitment to modern ERP and its strategic transformation.
“By embracing Plus, Subiaco will reduce complexity, improve its City’s data visibility, and lay strong foundations for long-term transformation. This investment in Plus positions the City to accelerate future innovation and deliver exceptional outcomes for its community.”
