City grants to fund community events and initiatives
In its latest round of Community Development Grants, the City awarded $15,000 to five community organisations who deliver initiatives that help improve wellbeing, safety, social inclusion and belonging within the City of Subiaco.
Here are the recipients from this round of awarded grants.
Self-Made Girls Incorporated Association
To mark Sensory and ADHD Awareness Month, this
association will run an Entrepreneurship and Business Skills Workshop for 8 to 16-year-olds at a market day at Palms Community Centre. The workshop will support 50 neurodivergent members of the community to develop their entrepreneurial skills.
Rotary Club of Subiaco
The
Rotary Club were awarded funding for The Dining Hub, a quarterly Subiaco community event offering meals, entertainment, and support for residents aged 50 to 65 who are affected by loneliness, homelessness, or family violence.
Cloverwest Square Dance Club Inc.
This
dance club was awarded funding for its Learn to Square Dance class held weekly for beginners at the Shenton Park Community Centre.
Subiaco Women’s Shed
The
Subiaco Women’s Shed was awarded funding to support its operations, including room and storage hire, marketing, equipment maintenance, insurance, and a workshop.
Deserving Better WA
Deserving Better WA’s core mission is to empower marginalised individuals through education, support, and advocacy, with a strong focus on supporting victims of family violence and coercive control. The funding this grant will provide will be used for marketing and promotional materials, including flyers and cards.
